Homework
Homework assists to reinforce what has been learnt at school and encourages lifelong study habits.
Homework assists students to develop independent study habits and consolidate classroom learning. Homework also enables students to involve their parents in their education. In primary school, the amount of homework will vary with the age of the children and the work currently being done at school. Parents can best assist by ensuring children have a set time to do their homework and by assisting their children to keep on task.
It is expected that all children read each night. Each child from Foundation to Year 2 has a Record of Reading log which is to be filled in when a book has been read. This record is monitored by the classroom teacher.
A PROUD TRADITION OF CARE AND ACHIEVEMENT
“Our Lady’s Primary School recognises the importance of preparing students for a world beyond the classroom. We are constantly challenging our young minds to take learning risks and develop positive growth mindsets.”
