Prep transition

A positive start to school

In Prep (more formally known as Foundation), students do not attend school on Wednesdays for the first few weeks of Term 1. Their first Wednesday at school for 2021 will be on the 10th March. This gives these students a mid-week break, allowing time to rest. Each student will, however, be given the opportunity to attend two half-hour sessions on two of the Wednesdays to meet with his/her classroom teacher. These sessions enable the class teacher to build a rapport with each student by gaining greater insight into his/her interests.

These sessions also provide an opportunity for teachers to conduct one-on-one English and Maths assessments. All assessments are conducted in a supportive, nurturing manner and enable the teacher to discover the entry point of each child’s learning ability. Parents will be asked to sign-up for appointments during the orientation sessions or the first week of school.

Information evening

The information evening for those students starting in 2021 will be held on  Thursday 29th October 2020 from 7pm – 8pm

Transition mornings

Transition mornings offer the children an opportunity to meet with their teachers and class mates. The students visit their classroom and spend some special time together reading books, playing games and meeting their ‘buddies’.

Transition mornings will be held at the following times:

  • Friday 30th October 2020 from 9am – 11am
  • Friday 6th November 2020 from 9am – 11am
  • Friday 13th November 2020 from 9am – 11am
