If you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want
to go far, go together.
There are two school crossings. One is situated on Erasmus Street outside the school and the other on Elgar Road. Both crossings are supervised for students arriving to school and at dismissal time. When the supervisor is standing in the centre of the crossing, clearly visible to approaching traffic, the signal of two short, sharp blasts on the whistle will indicate to the pedestrians that they may cross the road.
On Erasmus Street, when crossing flags are displayed, cars are not permitted to either drop off or pick up passengers or to park on the yellow lines. No parking is permitted in Lambourne Street within 9 metres of the ‘T’ intersection with Erasmus Street. For the safety of all:
- Cars are not permitted to park in driveways and drop off children.
- Pedestrians may not cross the road within 20 metres of the school crossing.
Breaches of school crossing regulations may lead to prosecution by the Whitehorse Council’s traffic bylaws officers, who monitor parking on a regular basis.
The Elgar Road pedestrian crossing has traffic lights. Please use this crossing at all times when crossing Elgar Road.
A PROUD TRADITION OF CARE AND ACHIEVEMENT
“Our Lady’s Primary School recognises the importance of preparing students for a world beyond the classroom. We are constantly challenging our young minds to take learning risks and develop positive growth mindsets.”
